Why try reading the book, Vegan Curious? Definition: A vegan is a person who does not eat or use animal products. “It will not work for ‘me.’ I will never be 100% vegan.”

After reading Aisha Adams‘ book for the second time, the part of the book that sparked interest to give it a try, for me, was the book encourages one to view this change as a lifestyle that requires willpower to make healthy food choices a permanent part of a daily routine.

Aisha Adams also stresses why it’s important to “read food labels.” Whole foods that are not processed and refined are better food choices. She also emphasizes the importance of consulting a doctor before making any changes to your diet.

Her book lays the foundation to get one started with a vegan lifestyle. She lists food choices to get protein and calcium into our daily diet, and she also includes a few recipes to cook.

I would like to include a quote from her book that spoke to my heart.
“Friendships are supposed to be built on mutual respect.”

Basically, what she is saying is respect a person’s choices in life. Do not criticize or judge. Do not force anyone to change their lifestyle because of your choice to become vegan.

To summarize, I found the Vegan Curious book, by Aisha Adams, to be very informative and a simple book to read. Like she said in the beginning, the book will help to jump-start the vegan lifestyle.
