James 1:2-3 Amplified Bible (AMP)
2 Consider it nothing but joy, my [a]brothers and sisters, whenever you fall into various trials.
3 Be assured that the testing of your faith [through experience] produces endurance [leading to spiritual maturity, and inner peace].
James letter speaks of his servant to God and the Lord Jesus Christ. He is writing to Christian Jews (the twelve tribes). His message will be about this servant-Lord relationship in which all Christians are to persevere. Along the way, faithful servants of the Lord will have to put their works into action in the midst of trials and tribulations. People are experiencing confusion, fear, sorrow, injustice, loneliness, poverty, sickness, loss of home and family members and livelihood, in choosing between material wealth, in controlling how they speak and in other life issues.
Should times of suffering and uncertainty be an interruption in our servant-Lord relationship with Jesus Christ? James spoke, do not put off your life of faith until times get better. Right now, in the midst of trials and tribulations, is the very time to put your servant-hood toward Christ into practice. For Christians, this means submission to God first, and then submission to one another. In other words, never fail to minister and share GOD WORD with others when the opportunity presents itself.
For myself, I have allowed these times to affect my relationship in “church fellowship,” BUT I remain grounded and in a personal relationship with GOD spiritually every day. Also, I make an effort to share the WORD Scripture interpretation through my blog along with other volunteer duties in the community. My blog is my Ministry of words of encouragement to others and their needs, and my goal is not for self-love, praise, power or status from others for the service.
I Pray:
Dear Lord Jesus, I know I am a sinner, and I ask for your forgiveness. I believe you died for my sins and rose from the dead. I trust and follow you as my Lord and Savior. Guide my life and help me to do your will. In your name Amen
