My life changed on 4-23-2017. This day marked my Retirement from the County of Los Angeles Environmental Health Services.
Addressed to who may care:
My name is Vernessie Joseph-Burbank. You do not know me, but I am going to step out of the box and share my story with you. I recently quit/retired from my career, after 26 years with the County of Los Angeles – Environmental Health-Public Health Department.
I gave 26 years of hard sweat and dedication driving up and down the Hill/Cajon Pass providing customer service. I know my work-life experience of honesty, reliability, and strong work ethic is what I provided.
On March 23, 2017, it all came to an end for me. Reason being, I had two life events that took a toll on my mind and body that caused me to decide to step away from this career. Either walk away or jeopardize me or the lives of others. Driving up and down the Cajon Pass twice a day traveling 78 miles going and returning home and dealing with my life events took a toll on me mentally and physically.
Since April 29, 2017, I applied online to many employers for many positions; with so many applicants to compete with online in cyberspace; I decided to step outside the box and submit my resume and cover letter by mail. I know my 26 years of work history and my resume speaks of my ability to work.
Deciding to quit my job after 26 years was very hard for me to do, but through Faith, I know there is someone with a heart of compassion that will give me the opportunity to prove my ability to work.
So far, I have had no luck with finding any part time job. So with the coaching and encouragement of my four mentors, I am attempting blogging full time and praying to learn how to make a profit soon to offset the loss of my full-time salary.
I am truly Blessed and Grateful that things are coming together for myself and my family.
“Life Is Only What You Make It”
